WE’RE MARRIED AND DATING ONE ANOTHER
Two months after our wedding, a dear friend sent us a lovely jar filled with dozens and dozens of wedding date ideas with this sentiment:
“Let Love Grow!
May you find a true friend in each other. May your love never fade, but flourish with each year. We wish you friendship and marriage filled with loads of joy, love, and care. Prayers for all the best for the days and years ahead.
Not only did she send us well wishes, but she also gifted us with a practical way to keep learning about the other.
The charge was simple.
We were being encouraged to be intentional in continuing to prioritize the courtship we invested so much time in while dating and engaged. It was also clear that it was important for us to make time to keep learning about one another.
The sentiment was touching and well received.
We want to be intentional about having a godly marriage and knew that it would be easier to continue doing if we started investing and dating intentionally from the beginning.
Eager to approach our 100 (1-69 are all that fit now) dates from a place of quality and sustainability, we have agreed to do the following:
- choose a new date every other Wednesday (unless we’re traveling + already adventuring together)
- we take turns choosing + the chooser plans the date
- the date ought to be scheduled to take place before the next date is chosen (within 2 weeks)
- the dates are just for the two of us
It’s so fun not knowing exactly what the next date will be and that we won’t be running out of ideas anytime soon. It frees us up to focus on (a) having fun together and (b) learning something new about/from the other.
I will post and connect about the date on the blog and link them here to the page and number that the date is. Take the ones that work for you and your hubby and enjoy!
There are some dates that just aren’t wise for us to participate in or we just can’t muster the interest or energy to plan. Those are dates that we’ve opted to “pass” on. But we’ll share them below in the event they are a great fit for you and your spouse.

16 | Go on a midnight bike ride together
We don’t own bikes and midnight is just not a time we’re awake. Pass!
Here’s to keeping it simple, enjoying getting to know one another even more and choosing to intentionally strengthen our love connection.
